The Journey of My Original Music

I love music and have had a lifelong appreciation for those who can create it. As I have never learned to play a musical instrument or read music, I have always been excluded from the idea of making music.

My background is in IT, and as an AI expert, I am fascinated by the tools that help me fill the creativity gaps that exist in my life. While I’ve always been a prolific writer, using my creativity for the written and spoken word, I lament that I’ve never been able to convert tunes in my head into actual music. Now there are tools available to help me do that.

As a writer, I can craft well-written lyrics, but the musical aspect of that has always been impossible for me. Hence, a poem has never been able to grow into a song. Now, using AI tools, I have been able to play around with that, and it has been quite enjoyable for me.

Accordingly, I want to share what I have learned on this journey with others. I’ll not only share my music here, but also the processes I’ve used to create it, including the occasional software reviews and tool announcements. I hope this site will encourage others to explore possibilities they never thought possible in using their creativity.

As a teen in the 60s, Norm was captivated by the harmonies of folk and the rhythms of rock, which laid the foundation for his love of all kinds of music. His journey began in the vibrant music scene of his home in southern California, where he had access to numerous artists and performers. Influenced by legendary artists and personal experiences, Norm’s music reflects a deep emotional connection and a relentless pursuit of originality.

Creating original music is my way of expressing the myriad of emotions that life presents. Each song is created using a complex and comprehensive prompt with the intention of resonating deeply with listeners, allowing them to find solace, joy, or reflection in the melodies. In many cases, the lyrics are mine, handcrafted poetry. In other cases, I have generated the lyrics using descriptive and targeted prompts.
My motivation stems from a desire to connect with people on an emotional level, transcending barriers and uniting us through shared experiences. Music is a universal language, and I strive to speak it fluently through my compositions. Although I don’t directly create the music itself, I do craft it through prompts and an iterative process that lets me refine until I have what I want.
Whether it’s the thrill of a new melody or the challenge of perfecting a complex arrangement, the creative process is both exhilarating and fulfilling, even though I’m using a completely new way to create my music.. It’s this passion that fuels my journey and keeps me dedicated to producing authentic, heartfelt music.
